Why Securing Your Server Is Important and How to Do It
In today’s digital world, securing your server is a must, especially if you’re running nodes for blockchain networks or other distributed systems. In this guide, we’ll break down why server security is so important and how to keep things safe on Ubuntu (Linux), including how to generate SSH keys for secure access. Why Server Security Is a Big DealProtecting your data:Servers hold a lot of sensitive stuff — like user info, financial data, and company documents. The Importance of Using Different Ports When Running Multiple Nodes on One Server
In today’s world of blockchain networks and dApps, a lot of people run multiple nodes on one server. But there’s one important thing to keep in mind with this setup — each node needs its own port. It might seem like a small detail, but properly setting up ports is crucial for keeping things stable, secure, and scalable. Let’s break down why using different ports for each node matters and how it affects your server’s performance.Ports and Their Role in Network InfrastructureA port is a communi...

The INK node uses the following ports:
TCP ports:
8545
8546
30303
9222
7300
6060
Before installing the node, make sure these ports are not in use.

Run the following command and download:
sudo bash -c 'git clone https://github.com/dknodes/inkDK.git && cd inkDK && chmod ugo+x inkDK.sh && ./inkDK.sh'

To use the commands, press the appropriate number and then the “enter”.
Check the ports before installation with Command 1.

From the main menu, enter 2 to choose the Install Node option.
‼️ After that, the installation kicks off. It’s going to download a file that’s over 30 GB. Once unpacked, the node will need more than 70 GB, so make sure your server has at least 100 GB of storage for the INK node.

🎉 Congrats, the node is installed!
Enter command 6 and then 7 and check the node logs.

P.S.: We’re looking for a solution to ensure the logs pass successfully. Waiting on updates from the INK team.
