Dear Reader, this is a diary entry about creating a Club on Orb a mobile only app for Lens Protocol. Clubs are the nucleolus of Orb and as of recent are allowing many creators to make their own. I created blvd.
I chose Orb to create this group over something like Discord because it stays in app and can be private. As well it has a treasury involved to allow my self with mods I choose to create an ecosystem within the club to help enhance others. Also it being part of the lens ecosystem also helps give a good reason as to why I chose Orb for blvd.
As of now it is simple. (Video showcase)
You first click create club.
Now the pricing is yearly and is in $BONSAI
Pricing goes: 3 character- 25,000 $BONSAI , 4 Character 5,000 $BONSAI , 5+ Character 1,000 $BONSAI.
Many names are reserved to prevent handle squatting so you will have to contact the team in order to get the whitelist for a reserved club name if it is available. Most are common names like pop, green, grass, etc.
You have the option to make it public or private.
You choose a Picture and Banner as well as a Bio
Also you may choose a rev share % for your treasury.
Upon creating your Club anyone who follows you will get a notification of the club being made and can join(or request if private). After that building is based on group engagement and going out and finding those you believe will fit the atmosphere.
Club fatigue, I believe as more and more are made many users will get tired of all of the clubs. Also once it gets going more and more private clubs pop up what will the timeline look like across the board.
Current Successful clubs made by creators
Create a request only club to filter out bots. Find some friends who you trust and add them on as a mod to help filter out request. Another way is to start with it open then close it later and remove bots that you find in the club. Taking it slow and maximizing the members will work in your favor.
This is still very new and many people will be excited to create a club. Make sure you have at least a thought on how you want the club to go in order to be able to understand the proper way to make it work. Its a yearly fee so remember finding those that want to be apart of the club should be a way to get your money's worth for the fee cost.
