We have witnessed almost the entire evolution of the mobile internet, from the fierce competition among O2O "group buying" businesses to the proliferation of various AR metaverse projects. We have also observed the rise of decentralized finance, igniting the crypto bull market, and the maturation of blockchain-based applications such as Web3 gaming. All of these are part of the innovative storm we have personally experienced and observed.
In 2023, as the AI industry heats up, we conducted intensive interviews with over a dozen practitioners and experts across various industry sectors within the field of artificial intelligence. We clearly perceived that AI, unlike previous short-lived hype cycles around the metaverse and VR, indeed presents deeper changes and opportunities.
Surveying the AI industry chain, the current mainstream market focus remains on the opportunities in large, foundational models. However, the dividends from GPT models differ from those of the Internet 1.0 era, with major players being well-prepared and competition fierce. The big tech companies have been quick to capitalize on the GPT benefits, even verging on monopolizing them. Microsoft integrated GPT directly into Bing and Office, Facebook launched an open-source language model, and Google introduced Bard to challenge GPT. It's safe to say that no one has fallen behind in this race, as everyone fears being overtaken in a battlefield evidently dominated by top-tier players.
In the long run, following the development of large models, it remains uncertain which opportunities in the infrastructure and intermediate layers will have substantial market size and profit potential.

This is the golden age of AI developers, and traditional enterprises in segmented industries may react slower. For new AI applications, there may be numerous opportunities for disruption.
