Introducing Drepute

Building the trust layer for Web3 citizens

We have seen unprecedented growth in Web3 in the past few years. From DeFi to NFTs to DAOs, the crypto ecosystem is enriched with some of the best solutions to solve the modern world’s biggest problems with decentralization at its core. However, successfully building projects requires a robust infrastructure for smooth collaboration on a global scale.

With the lack of a system that can assess the credibility of a user in a pseudonymous economy, it becomes extremely difficult to build trust and reliability which form the foundation of a prospering community. Web3 being a privacy-first ecosystem, that boasts diversity due to no borders, requires a new set of innovative solutions to solve this. **Wallets don’t provide a contextual record of user contributions and hence cannot serve as proof of participation. All of this leads to a demand for presenting verifiable proof of activity for all users to build their reputation **without compromising their anonymity.

Meanwhile, fast-growing crypto communities need a system to verify a member’s past contributions in order to scale their digital operations. In our extensive discussions with over 50 DAOs including some of the biggest communities in Web3, it became evident that there is a dire need to track contributions on-chain and build a reward system to incentivize members early on.

It becomes imperative to address this problem.

Introducing Drepute

To cater to these needs of the internet-native citizens, we are building a reputation protocol that will allow users to capture their digital journey and share it with the right set of people. Moreover, the acknowledgement of member achievement by communities and verifiable proof of contribution will foster trust and transparency.

  • Users can build and share an on-chain reputation that captures all their experiences and accomplishments in Web3 with the community.

  • Users can generate contribution badge requests to communities to build a verified on-chain resume with their web3 contributions while communities can use resumes to verify a user’s past contributions.

  • Users can get acknowledged not just within one community but across Web3 while the community can record the contribution of every member on-chain for gated flows and airdrop data curation. Consequently, they can incentivize contributors not just in tokens or NFTs but also in contribution badges.

  • Communities can streamline their payment process to make it easier for them to acknowledge and reward their contributors, all in one go.

Drepute aims to equip users with verifiable credentials while providing communities with the infrastructure to enable efficient collaborations leveraging the interoperability of on-chain proofs. With our unique proof of contribution protocol, we are working towards solving some of the major issues that persist in the ecosystem today. **In the budding ecosystem of Web3, recognizing and rewarding those who build it is the only way forward.
