It’s an exciting day for the EigenLayer community! Season 1 of the StakeDrop is officially live, offering a substantial opportunity for early adopters and community members to claim their share of approximately 113 million EIGEN tokens, representing 6.05% of the initial supply.
What’s more, when Phase 2 kicks off in mid-June, this will increase to 6.75%. Overall, a generous 15% of the initial token supply is earmarked for community distribution across all seasons, underscoring EigenLayer's commitment to its community.
Claiming your EIGEN rewards is straightforward. Here’s what you need to know:
Where to Claim: Navigate to claims.eigenfoundation.org to start the claiming process.
Claim Window: Open from today, May 10, 2024, until September 7, 2024. Make sure to mark your calendar and claim within this period!
You can claim your EIGEN tokens today if:
You restaked ETH or LSTs on EigenLayer before March 15th: Secure 100 bonus tokens along with your EIGEN allocation.
You were an active LRT user before March 15th: Unless your activities are categorized under Phase 2, you’re eligible for an additional 100 bonus tokens.
Post-March 15th Activities: If you restaked ETH or LSTs between March 15th and April 29th, you can claim 100 bonus tokens now, with more rewards available in Season 2.

Launching in mid-June, Phase 2 will benefit DeFi enthusiasts who utilized services like Kelp, Pendle, Equilibrium, or similar platforms before March 15th. An additional 100 EIGEN bonus awaits new users in this phase. Please consult the DAO or relevant liquid staking protocols for more details.
The enthusiasm is palpable! Here’s what happened on the first EIGEN claims day:
113M EIGENS Claimed
8.9M EIGEN Staked/Delegated
5M+ ETH Restaked
11 AVSs & 170 Operators Active on Mainnet
Why Stake? Today, staking EIGEN not only supports EigenDA, a robust Data Availability system for Ethereum rollups but also prepares you for future staking opportunities with various AVSs.
Staking and Unstaking: You can stake at any time and choose your operator. However, note that unstaking EIGEN involves a 24-day waiting period to maintain the ecosystem's security integrity.
Token Transferability: EIGEN tokens are currently non-transferrable, with future unlock plans tied to the launch of new features and further decentralization efforts by September 30, 2024.
The launch of EIGEN marks the beginning of a meta-setup phase, inviting community engagement to refine and finalize the parameters for the full actuation of intersubjective staking. This phase is critical for aligning the protocol with the broader Ethereum ecosystem effectively.
The introduction of EIGEN and its innovative features like intersubjective staking represents a significant leap towards solving core challenges in the crypto space, such as universality and secure digital task execution. As we move forward, the EIGEN system is poised to become a cornerstone in the development of an open, verifiable digital commons, fostering innovation and security within the blockchain ecosystem.
