Neo and Troy founded ReadOn in mid 2022.

Neo is a computer scientist who worked at Baidu and as product director of QuTouTiao, a web2 play to earn project with 30M daily active users.

Troy worked as a senior technology manager at ByteDance and senior tech lead at Pinterest. He is a machine learning expert experienced in content understanding and distribution.

ReadON aims to build a public contract to index and assign content to its real owner. This will give creators true ownership of their content.

Curators rank content on the platform. This is what one of the admins said when I asked in the project’s Discord.

Users will earn $READ tokens and exp points as they read on the app. For now, you can earn points that will be exchangeable for $READ tokens later on (no ETA yet).

The project had a seed investment of $2M, led by SevenX Ventures.

Catto is ReadON’s NFT that allows you to receive 60% more points when you hold it and read on the app.

There is a limit to how many points you can earn depending on your Catto NFT.

ReadON’s number of users is growing fast. The project went from 10,000 to almost 250,000 total users in 4 months.
