The beginning of this week was a bit of a rampage for me. I don't know about you, but for me, when I get going... especially with all these wonderful AI tools there are now... I can just spit out app after app. And so I coded https://epicdylan.com from scratch in about 2 hours with Claude Code, which had me feeling good enough to try something bigger, and in about 3 hours at the end of the evening I was able to actually hack together a whitepaper, a few idea contracts, and a functioning frontend for the application.
The idea is to keep it simple. So, you know, the opposite of what I do in my research and what I have done so far at PageDAO and pretty much all of my projects. Rather than complicating things unnecessarily, I would home in on the core value proposition of rewarding developers who are working on Farcaster. Quick, simple concept, rapid build, minimize smart contract risk by only using one contract and keeping that very close to the beaten path, centralized servers because they're great, decentralized backend because so is Web3 tech, and you've got yourself the foundation of what could probably become a decent app.
I've always enjoyed building apps that could use cryptocurrency, so I figured that this rapid prototype wild hair concept could have more wheels than it looked like, if I could keep it light enough. I could use a Clanker v4 token to collect fees and even unlock a bit of the supply to do an airdrop with or whatever the case might be, and I could just charge a small membership fee in $ETH to ensure that even a modest adoption curve generates enough revenue to keep early users happy.
Okay, you ask, but what about the thing people are using? What is it?
It's called the ABC DAO; Always Be Coding Decentralized Autonomous Organization. And it's a minimalist decentralized autonomous organization, meaning the rules of the game are set from day 1 and there's nothing to govern, you just participate. Still, holding a lot of $ABC tokens and staking them is a very good way to ensure that your voice is heard in the future as creative decisions are made with regard to the protocol. In the future, if the protocol is a success and needs to update, Members and Stakers will both have the opportunity to provide input due to the onchain nature of the representational structures we're starting with here.
Members join by paying a one-time fee of .002ETH; the membership benefit is that your GitHub push operations will be tracked by the @abc-bot account on Farcaster; and each time you make a commit you will receive a random amount between 50000 and 1 million $ABC tokens up to 10x per day.
The goal of the application is to create something like a sweat-hard UBI for even less-successful Web3 developers to fill the gap we presently see in DevRel where centralized organizations snap up developers and shower them with resources but FOSS builders tend to be hobbyists at first who really have to struggle to reach a point where the intellectual work they do becomes financially rewarding.
Users can also engage with the protocol by buying $ABC and staking it into the ABC Staking Contract via the application. $ABC stakers will receive the $ETH the protocol generates as well as a portion of $ETH trading fees from the Clanker liquidity pool; ABC DAO member devs will receive $ABC fees in random grants as they commit code.
There's really nothing here that isn't at least somewhat vetted, as we're using proven Synthetix reward patterns and OpenZeppelin security libraries. If you are curious about the initial form of the service, you can see the bot's casts at its account. They look like this: https://farcaster.xyz/abc-bot/0x424a6bd5
Each cast by the bot recognizes the dev by quoting the commit message, linking the commit, and tagging the dev on Farcaster. The bot also sends the dev a random amount of $ABC between 1 and 1 million tokens.
The goal with this mini-app (which, yes, is just a mini-app) is to redefine the game for an under-recognized segment of developers. Talents who build applications that need to exist but don't unnecessarily just spam the Base blockchain to angle for rewards are underrepresented and ABC_DAO is an organization that can help to support them.
You can visit the ABC DAO miniapp on Farcaster or at https://abc.epicdylan.com. Although Farcaster is required for full functionality because it's the best way to ensure each user has a current wallet, the application is available to be viewed and staking can even work outside of Farcaster's environment.

This is the first version of the ABC_DAO! I went with a very simple dev-oriented styling system that's easy on the eyes and simple to decipher. You just buy some $ABC and stake it, then as the protocol earns $ETH so do you. You can also join as a member to earn $ABC rewards each time you make a commit on GitHub, up to 10x per day.
The app itself is the most basic thing I could think of that would still add some value - you pay .002 $ETH to join the DAO as a member, and then your github commits are autocast by the bot and you earn rewards in $ABC from that point forward. Users can stake $ABC to earn a share of the Ethereum tokens generated by $ABC trading volume and by membership sales, which creates a situation where membership isn't directly related to participation in the token market but nonetheless the token succeeds if the membership does and the membership succeeds if the token does.
Ultimately, if >ABC_DAO works out the way I want it to, it will reward developers and also provide a rewarding network for stakers to be a part of. As things develop here, the bot may become a more central part of the benefit of joining >ABC_DAO, the publicity generated for up-and-coming developers might be substantial for them. However this experiment ends up working out, I feel thrilled to be creating on this level now.
PS: I went ahead and launched $ABC yesterday (CA: 0x5c0872b790bb73e2b3a9778db6e7704095624b07) and it didn't do much bot volume.
We'll see if people like it, I suppose.
