The internet doesn‘t forget is something we hear often, but you can delete something more or less permanently if you get lucky. The blockchain is something different. If I choose to do so I can hide a published entry on Mirror.xyz, but it will never vanish from Arweave, where it is permanently stored as a transaction on the blockchain and remains visible for the public. Arweave is project aiming to decentralize — and preserve — internet data and websites with its blockchain-like architecture called the blockweave. If you want to know more about Arweave you can read about it if you follow this link to their article on Medium.
If you would like to learn more about blockchain technology in general there are tons of Youtube videos and articles on the basics like this one from CoinDesk. Just be aware of channels and websites shilling shady projects and/or shitcoins.
On Youtube I can recommend CoinBureau without a doubt. In my humble opinion Guy and his team provide high quality videos without any shilling or fudding projects. Just honest and fact based research.
One reason why I am an advocate for blockchain technology and in this case Arweave is the fact that history/articles/posts saved on the blockchain cannot be rewritten to someones liking. Of course this doesn’t prevent misinformation to be spread so fact checking and crosschecking of resources remains key. Blockchain technology and Crypto is also about taking responsibility, especially if you’re holding your assets in self-custody. So I think this is something you can expect from people in this space.
