To celebrate the nascent publication of my next novel, Daughter of Light and Shadow, I'm releasing this poem on mirror.I shall carry you, the daughter of light and shadow, to a place that is neither one nor the other. I shall carry you to the place where I was born, so that you may know the blood and earth that made you. The stars will be your lamps, the only light you shall see. The darkness and the silence will be your mother's womb, and from them will emerge your true form.
