Local Public

MIP-3, tangible ideas to expand coworking days, individual perspective and group thinking for the hackathon, and sharing vada pavs.

MIP-3

With an hour of struggling to connect the laptop for presentation to the projector via a specific application, MIP-3 began with all of us talking to each other.

We live streamed—video successfully, audio? Not so much—the day with ETHMumbai contributors on a Google Meet call. We spent a big chunk of time reflecting on individual experiences in Bengaluru during ETHIndia Week: Which event was the most fun to be a part of? Which of our expectations were missed? and quickly learned about each other’s favourite places in Mumbai and a skill we want to learn in 2024. It ranged from improving networking skills, learning AI in tech, and an ability to spot shitcoins for well-known reasons.

Next, an update on ETHMumbai:

  • We enquired and visited 5+ venues ranging from banquet halls to open spaces to auditoriums, and will continue to match them with our requirements: dates, capacity, feasibility.

  • We have a first sponsor as Purple to have a Farcaster track, and have ongoing conversation with 8-10 projects who have also been our early supporters.

  • ETHMumbai’s visual identity is formed and ready to be in public soon :)

  • Local Public website is designed and ready to be deployed which will be a showcase for ETHMumbai, FarCon India, and all next initiatives.

With Love, For Hackers

Extending the update with this special section for hacker experience. We have had calls with all popular hackathon platforms and are closing in to create the hackathon page on one of them and start registrations in the next one month.

While we know there are several wheels moving in harmony for the success of the hackathon, hackers are the living, breathing, mega-wheel in the centre connected to all, which must have all their expectations met. For this, along with initial hacker registration, we will be opening a new way to register in public and extend an invite to experienced hackers from all over India.

Stay tuned for this 🫡

What are the dates for ETHMumbai?

29 - 31 March 2024. Amplify this.

How can I contribute/support?

Let’s clear this up first: Every contributor for ETHMumbai will be compensated, at the same time, contributors are selected on the basis of requirements, which is the most effective way to do this.

We have 20+ DMs each to contribute to website/frontend and marketing, however, as we all understand, it only takes 1-2 people for each. So please keep this in mind.

Two major areas for support in the next months are:

  1. Logistics: Having an experience in working with event vendors, hosting 5-10 events is needed to be a good support here. Being in Mumbai is a must especially for this work, as we have to understand locations, create and maintain relations with local vendors, and also have in-person meetings.

  2. Hacker experience: While we prepare for hacker registration, we are also starting simultaneous work on mentor requirements, judging criteria, creating guides and resources for hackers, planning workshops, and in-person experience.

If any of the above areas interest you and you have the ability to independently execute them, DM us on Twitter. Every team member is here to support you, however, we are all also self-sufficient and expect the same.

Can I join the next MIP online?

MIPs are in-person coworking days and *in-person* is a big part of taking the ideas to the initial execution stage. MIPs will continue to be in-person and increase in frequency; think of this as a common-office space for builders, instead of a meeting, which is easy to recreate online.
