I realize that I’ve fallen prey to the insidious academic habit of always needing to find justifications, historical precedents, rationalizations, explanations, defensible reasons and well-researched hedges for doing anything, for trying anything new.
For me, this introduces so much friction that I fail to accomplish nearly as much as I’m capable of.
Moving forward, we’ll try new things, keep what works, and discard what doesn’t. Rinse and repeat.
