KYVE Protocol has just released its seventh protocol update, which is a significant milestone for the blockchain-based protocol. The new update is aimed at perfecting existing features and completing the last pieces of the KYVE puzzle. The update includes the integration of the latest Cosmos SDK v0.46, a refactoring of the code structure, an inter-pool security feature, automated testing improvements, and UI/UX upgrades.
One of the significant changes in this protocol update is the integration of the latest Cosmos SDK v0.46, which brings several opportunities for KYVE. For example, the governance module has been updated to allow multiple transactions to take place in one proposal, streamlining the governance proposal process. Additionally, the x/group module has been introduced, allowing for multi-signatures to exist on the chain transparently.
The update also introduced a gas price feature for validators, which allows them to set their own gas prices rather than having a global on-chain gas fee. This feature enables custom fee burning and refunds for certain types of messages, and the gas fees will be refunded to incentivize protocol node runners.
To optimize the chain and protocol, the KYVE Engineering team refactored the overall code structure by dividing it into several modules, such as Pools, Stakers, Delegation, Bundles, and X/group. This allows the KYVE features to be self-contained within specific modules, which makes it easier to maintain and scale the code.

Furthermore, the update introduces an inter-pool security feature that enables each staker to join multiple pools at once, with each pool being specified by a valaddress that allows the node to vote in favor of the staker. The delegators are now subject to slashing, which is calculated using the F1-Fee-Distribution Algorithm in the Cosmos ecosystem.
The KYVE Protocol’s seventh protocol update is a significant milestone for the blockchain-based protocol. The integration of the latest Cosmos SDK, code refactoring, and inter-pool security feature, among other improvements, will help optimize the chain and protocol while ensuring full security and functionality.
