Hello everybody! The details you’re all probably waiting for will be at the end of the post. But first, a short story of how we got to where we are!

The Bygones were created when my partner, @LacedbyLouie, was working on a Hispanic Heritage Month project for Instagram. I told her that NFTs are the next big thing in terms of social media, sharing your work, and creating communities by way of amazing art and concepts. Thus, the Bygones were born.

Back in November, we actually were a few days away from being able to launch. Sadly, our developer rugged us. We lost the half of the payment we paid up front for and were completely ghosted.

Instead of dwelling on this, I spent the last two months teaching myself code, blockchain, and NFT generation. I can now say with full confidence that the Bygones officially have a verified, gas-efficient smart contract, functional minting dApp, and 2555 piece collection. There are over 250 hand-drawn traits by @LacedbyLouie, which were randomly generated to create the Aztec Bygones.

We’re unbelievably excited to execute some of the more intricate parts of the roadmap pictured below. Particularly, we believe we may be the first or only project that’s doing a visual novel style journey that is powered by the Bygones DAO. Picture a comic book, but where you the community as holders, will vote on routes that are dynamic and vary. This will navigate you through the Aztec Empire and ultimately end up with your alebrije spirit guide, which will be drawn and airdropped for free. More to come on the utility of this alebrije ;)

We’re also so proud to be partnered with PSYDEH.org. If you haven’t heard us say it enough yet, here it is one more time. PSYDEH is a foundation that supports indigenous women of Mexico, mainly those that are adversely affected by COVID-19 and the pandemic. @LacedbyLouie is a proud Mexican citizen and it’s a second home to me. We are gladly donating 20% of all sales to their cause.

We realize community building isn’t easy. We lost a lot of groundwork and time to work on our community when we had to start over from scratch. We recognize that some of you loyal supporters have been waiting a long time, and we greatly appreciate that. It is not and will never be about the money — That’s why we’ve done the following:
