Being an athlete has always been a "high-risk" profession. Even if you spend more than ten years of your youth, it doesn't mean you can get the so-called return (such as becoming a world champion). A game, only one champion, the title is a small probability of events. We only see the Olympic champion on the screen shining and winning glory for the country, but it is hard to imagine how much investment it takes to produce a champion. With the country's increasing support for the sports industry, more and more people want to know about the career of athletes. Here, I try my best to recall the way of the more than ten years of the athlete's career to present to you. In 1999, I was selected from kindergarten to the district amateur sports school. Sports usually start with the baby, that is, a professional athlete's career starts with a child around the age of six, which should be very different from other professions. For the sport of swimming, coaches regularly select the country's children, usually from pre-kindergarten children. The coaches will look at the height of the children's parents, and after the preliminary selection, they will ask the parents to take their children to the swimming pool at a designated time for a second tryout. The second selection is mainly to see whether the children are afraid of water, movement coordination, how flexible the body. After passing the above two simple selection, the selected children will be eligible for the third round of selection - to enter the long training class. Parents are usually eager for their children to be selected, because the selected children have the opportunity to attend a primary school with good teachers as a special student. When I tried out, I was the only one who didn't bring a swimsuit, but my coach chose me because of my flexibility and coordination. That was the beginning of my swimming career, which was the prelude to becoming a professional athlete. Even in the prelude, the process is very hard, especially for a six-year-old child. After school at 15:30 every day, we would enter the natatorium for 1-1.5 hours of training, starting from the most basic swimming skills. In 1999, the facilities of the swimming pool were not very good, and the water treatment was not perfect. Due to the pungent smell of chlorine gas, all the people training in the swimming pool were very prone to cough. In winter, the water temperature is very low, every child is frozen like a small purple eggplant. At first, I thought that the training in kindergarten was already hard, but I did not think that the hard work was still behind me. After the preparatory period of kindergarten, we will receive primary school training. Belonging to the district team, we need to take into account cultural classes and sports training, so we have to train in spare time. From Monday to Friday, we have classes during the day and swim training after school. On weekends, we train in the afternoon.

Class during the day, after school to carry out 2000~3000 meters of training, the end of the training at about 7 o 'clock, in fact, already exhausted, but rushed home to finish dinner and do homework. During that time, what impressed me most was that I didn't finish my homework until midnight at 12 o 'clock. I was tired and sleepy and could only write while crying and repeat the same thing the next day. When I entered primary school, I began to participate in various official competitions. Through the competition, I gradually emerged and won the champion of different events, so I smoothly moved from the district team to the city team. Along the way, I had a hiccup. After entering the municipal team, the athletes have to receive closed training, only go home once a week, the rest of the time are in the team for all-weather training. I was the only kid in my family, and my father didn't want to send me to training. Later, my uncle said to my father, "If the child really has talent and you don't let her go, it may be a lifelong regret for her." Because of this sentence, I successfully entered the city team, to participate in further study. That's how most athletes get into the game. Although they are very young, the career of an athlete needs to be started from a young age. Quan Hongchan was 14 when she won the gold medal in the women's 10m platform diving at the Tokyo Olympics, and Gu Ailing was 18 when she won the gold at the Beijing Winter Olympics. If this describes the experience of a prep athlete, then this is the experience of a professional athlete. I was 10 the year I turned professional. After I entered the city team training, I was trained 24/7. In the absence of summer training, winter training and large-scale training before the games, all the athletes in the sports team are up at 5:00 to begin exercise training, 6:30 ~ 7:00 eat breakfast, then take a shower, change clothes, and then on the culture class. We should have heard that the children in the sports school culture class is not very good, in fact, we do not love learning, it is every morning after 5 o 'clock to get up, after a round of training and then class, the body is too tired to concentrate on learning. According to my understanding, in fact, the young athletes who come to the team training are very smart, many of them before joining the team academic performance is top. Some athletes learning performance is not good, just because people's energy is limited, training tasks and cultural learning can not take into account, so we have to make some trade-offs. After the culture class in the morning, we will have the afternoon training after a two-hour lunch break, which is usually from 14:30 to 17:00. This is the most important training class in a day, because the training condition in the afternoon is the best, so the training time is the longest. After the afternoon training, we went to have dinner and then went to the self-study class. Every day, day after day, year after year. In case of summer training, winter training or competition, the morning culture class and evening self-study will all be replaced by training. Only training, eating and sleeping were left every day. The life of an athlete is so boring that we repeat the same movements thousands of times every day in the same place, swimming hundreds of laps back and forth against the same bottom of the pool, which requires a great deal of patience.

If you ask what really keeps us moving forward, it is probably the bright national flag in the stadium and the words "win glory for the country". For the athletes, it is our dream to raise the bright national flag in the competition field, and winning glory for the country is the goal of our continuous efforts. In the process of training encountered difficulties and injuries, as long as there is a strong goal in mind as their internal driving force, then all difficulties can be overcome. To us, anything but life and death is a scratch. Despite the hard work of every player on the team, the elimination rate is still very high. It doesn't mean that you can just try hard. Hard work is your attitude, but hard work doesn't necessarily mean you can get a successful result. The criteria for elimination is also very realistic, which is the annual ranking of competition results. If you don't do well in the tournament, then you risk being eliminated in the next round, which is a particularly bad thing for us. For a person who has been in the sports team for a long time, it is very painful for him to go back to school for normal classes. The first reason is that he needs to readjust his living habits, the second reason is that he may not be able to keep up with the academic classes, the third reason is that he may have to face different eyes from the classmates, and the fourth reason is that the hard work of several years will be wasted.
