Welcome back for the second entry of Web3 Portal.
Web3 is still very new technology and we are not very used to the way it works. It is however evolving at a furious pace for obvious reasons. Here are 2 paragraphs taken from the mirror.xyz support page:
“What if you could be rewarded for publishing free articles or collecting your favorite articles on Mirror? Protocol rewards are the latest iteration on Mirror’s Writing NFTs. Now, Mirror’s mint fees are split between creators who publish free Writing NFTs, the first person to mint a Writing NFT, and people who refer Writing NFTs they’ve collected to other collectors.
With the advent of fast, inexpensive Layer 2 networks like Optimism, Base, Linea, and Zora Network, we truly are beginning to see collection behavior in web3 resemble “likes” on web2 social networks. Collect to show appreciation for a post; collect to tip the creator; collect to keep track of interesting ideas you read online. And now, earn a reward for yourself and for the creator via your collection activity.”
Similarly Zora (NFT blockchain and market place) and Sound.xyz (Music - Social - NFT platform) have adopted the same model.

The embedded NFT for this entry in ForestSesh Part 1/3, a collaboration between Flooting Grooves and Zenn aka Almost A Sin.
A man of many talents, Zenn is a multi-instrumentalist, loop artist and all round free spirit. This particular encounter was a spontaneous jam in the forest, here in a small mountain village in South Africa where I have been residing on and off for the last 32 years.
It was a crispy autumn morning with few birds singing since most had already migrated north for the winter. We came to a spot under the giant redwoods, which loomed over us like enormous organic towers. After a small warmup, the record button was pressed and tunes started to flow. The only audience was the river, trees and all the insects and animal inhabitants.
Parts 2 and 3 will be dropped randomly in other Web3 Portal Entries to follow.
