Once installed change the network settings of metamask

ChainID: 137
Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/
The easiest way to do this is using a popular centralised exchange such as Binance
Once you have received the MATIC tokens within your metamask wallet address you can then use Quickswap to purchase all other polygon related tokens.
