Show the new generation of young people’s exploration and inheritance of “Xinghai spirit”

New Express News reporter Xu Shaona reported that the original opera “Xinghai Xinghai” will premiere in Guangzhou Grand Theater from June 17 to 19. Based on the life of the people’s musician Xian Xinghai, the play tells the Chinese story of the war of resistance against Japan and national salvation, and shows the exploration and inheritance of the “Xinghai spirit” by the new generation of youth.

Xian Xinghai is a famous composer in modern China. In his short life, he left hundreds of militant and infectious music works with amazing creativity. When he was in national crisis, he closely linked his life and career with the fate of the motherland, created the Yellow River Chorus, which represents the great spirit of the Chinese nation, sent out the roar of the Chinese nation to the world and inspired generations of Chinese people.

The opera Xinghai Xinghai takes Xian Xinghai’s life path as the creative background, takes the young students of Xinghai Conservatory of music as the new starting point, and tells Xian Xinghai’s short and glorious life through the staggered promotion of two story lines of modernity and history. In the “modern line”, a group of young students from Xinghai Conservatory of music had a conceptual conflict in order to rehearse Xian Xinghai’s work “the Yellow River Chorus”, so they decided to follow Xian Xinghai’s road of life to visit, admire, explore and study. All the way to Yan’an, they finally found the true meaning of Xian Xinghai’s works and the core of “Xinghai spirit”. “Historical line” tells that Xian Xinghai, who was dying but in a foreign land, struggled on the way back to Yan’an from the Soviet Union, from Ulaanbaatar, Almaty, Xinjiang to Moscow, and finally died in a foreign country due to war and hardship.

The opera “Xinghai Xinghai” is jointly produced by Guangzhou Grand Theater and Xinghai Conservatory of music. The main creative team is composed of experts from Xinghai Conservatory of music and in-service teachers with rich experience in creation and performance, and attracts top screenwriters and dance design teams in the industry. The main actors are excellent teachers, students and alumni of Xinghai Conservatory of music. Among them, Xian Xinghai was performed by Wang Chuanliang, a young teacher of the vocal music and Opera Department of Xinghai Conservatory of music. In addition, the choir, dance troupe and Symphony Orchestra of Xinghai Conservatory of music have also provided solid talent reserve resources for the play.
