Drink the crypto wallet Kool-aide while reading this
.... then let yourself be slapped in the face with some crypto-skeptical reading:
2 hours of the problems with NFTs by Dan Olson (reminds me a bit of the Zeitgeist video that popped up around the crash in 08). He talks about wallets 1.20 into the vid, and some of his arguments are really thought provoking.
Web3 aside, table stakes for any successful mainstream consumer app will continue to be safety (people can't send you stuff that will allow your wallet to become an attack vector for hackers or scammers), privacy (I don't want everyone to see what I own unless I give them permission), and delightful to use. Not obvious that the benefits of decentralized ownership outweighs the current drawbacks in these areas compared to web2.
