Until I heard it on the the FULL SEND podcast, it hadn’t clicked so clearly as to why nft/token projects launch and fail or succeed. Highly encourage you watch.
It shouldn’t be a surprise to you that a projects destiny is ultimately tied to it’s operator(s). After all, in this space, you’re casting your vote of confidence by hodling something. This dissemination of “seed” funding to a true crowd sourcing model is what “web 3.0” is founded on. Obviously this poses very high risks. Even if an operators ability is high, it doesn’t mean they won’t take on to much or fail to bring in the right team members.
So when people say “do your research” they aren’t just talking about studying tokenomics, social sentiment, websites and such. They are saying to spend time in the projects discord or join AMAs. Listen for yourself to how a leader talks about and promotes the project and it’s community within. Then understand their history, not just in the NFT space, but IRL.
