ZetaChain is …

ZetaChain is a protocol-independent blockchain that supports generic omnichain smart contracts that connect all chains and layers, as well as non-smart contract blockchains like Bitcoin and Dogecoin — without the use of bridges or wrapped tokens.

ZetaChain allows omnichain programming and transactions of any value or data

As the developers themselves write: “Developers who want to support multiple networks face the challenge of supporting their dApps across multiple networks, each with its own challenges and limitations. At the same time, users who want to get the best returns and use different dApps end up using different bridges to move assets between networks.”

They are creating ZetaChain to solve these growing problems and change the paradigm of how users and developers use cryptocurrency

The primary public blockchain that supports omnichain, universal smart contracts, and communications amongst all blockchains is ZetaChain. It addresses “cross-chain” and “multi-chain” issues and seeks to make the crypto and wider financial ecosystems accessible to anyone. ZetaChain envisions and supports a fully fluid, multi-chain crypto environment in which users and developers may travel between blockchains and take use of each one’s advantages, including payments, DeFi, liquidity, games, art, social networks, performance, security, and privacy.

Key features

Decentralized and public: Unified and open blockchain network ZetaChain. It is constructed using the Cosmos SDK and the Tendermint Consensus. ZetaChain is a Proof-of-Stake blockchain where all transactions and activity on the platform — even cross-chain transactions — are fully transparent, verifiable, and operate in a trust-minimized way. In contrast to many cross-chain solutions like bridges, which have varying, frequently centralized trust models and a history of being vulnerable to exploits and hacks. Hyper-connected nodes: Observers installed on ZetaChain nodes keep track on transactions on each chain that is linked to it. With the use of ZetaChain’s TSS design, the network is able to sign and validate transactions on all linked chains much like a wallet. These hyper-connected nodes offer a seamless omnichain environment for developers to create cutting-edge and potent cross-chain apps on top of thanks to their ability to read and write to connected chains in a safe, decentralized way. Omnichain message passing: With just a few function calls, a developer may transmit messages (data + value) between chains and levels. A dApp developer may create robust cross-chain apps using message passing by adding a few simple methods to their current smart contracts. Omnichain smart contracts: ZetaChain allows the native deployment of smart contracts that can read from and write to linked chains. The first public blockchain that supports smart contracts with this functionality is ZetaChain, which has led to a shift in how apps are developed. Managed external assets: The network of ZetaChain and the dApps created on top of it can handle the assets and vaults of other linked chains. This makes it possible to manage assets on any chain in the same way that a smart contract on a single chain can manage assets on that chain. Thus, a dApp running on ZetaChain may coordinate and introduce smart contract logic to any chain that is linked. All chains, even non-smart-contract chains like Bitcoin and Dogecoin, are subject to this characteristic. What does ZetaChain include? ZetaChain includes a Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK, which is connected to external blockchains (e.g. Ethereum, BSC, Solana, Avalanche, Terra, Bitcoin) and layers (e.g. Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum)

As the project developers write: The possibilities of what can be created with ZetaChain are endless, but some of the applications that developers can create include:

Cross-chain DEX in native tokens without packaging Decentralized and fault-tolerant bridges Omnichain smart contracts that can track and execute events across all connected chains Interchain Lending and Profitability Protocols Omnichain NFT applications The chain uses its own ZetaChain token (ZETA) is used to pay gas fees for the ZetaChain smart contact and is additionally used to secure the ZetaChain PoS blockchain

Currently, there are 400,000 active users testing the ZetaChain network. ZetaChain continues to experience hyper growth in its testnet and community as the crypto market shows significant demand for better blockchain connectivity.

Announcement: On January 11, the project announced the launch of an official bug bounty program in partnership with Immunefi, the leading bug bounty platform for Web3.

This is the first of the following higher reward programs. Security in the cross-chain space is critical given the number and scale of exploits that have occurred in 2022.

Investors: Investors include all major market makers, top exchanges, early employees of Coinbase and Binance, including Dan Romero, Sam Rosenblum, and John Yi, and core members of some of the industry’s most prominent protocols and funds, including Polygon’s JD Kanani. Also such giants as: Polygon, and Hashed, but there is little information about them.

Metamask Wallet ZetaChain Testnet:

  1. Go to https://www.zetachain.com/ and click Launch.

  2. Connect and confirm on MetaMask.

  3. Choose the chain and assets you want to swap(e.g. BSC and USDT) and the chain and assets you want to receive (e.g. Polygon and ZETA) in the swap options.

  4. Click Review Order, Allow USDT Transfer, and confirm on MetaMask.

  5. Click Swap and confirm on MetaMask.

  6. Wait for the swap to be successful and swap daily.

  7. Send feedback to the team in discord by accessing https://discord.gg/zetachain and going to the #testnet-feedback channel to help improve the product.

I recommend installing the XDEFI Wallet, requesting test tokens and performing a cross-chain swap on the ZetaChain platform.

XDEFI Wallet ZetaChain Testnet:

  1. Download the XDEFI Wallet from the Google Chrome Store.

  2. Create or restore a wallet using the Onboarding Process webpage and save your seed phrase.

  3. Obtain Testnet Bitcoin from a reliable faucet and enable Testnet in the XDEFI Wallet menu.

  4. Wait for at least 3 confirmations before swapping BTCt.

  5. Use the ZetaChain Testnet App, select the Bitcoin Testnet network, and install the XDEFI Wallet.

  6. Connect your account, enter the swap amount, and choose the desired asset.

  7. Review and confirm the transaction in the XDEFI Wallet pop-up.

  8. Wait for the process to be completed.

Remember to swap daily and provide feedback to the team on discord. To give feedback on discord:
