Seen bitcoin rise since 2008. Had a chance to buy it at 12 cents but got talked out of it. “Dumb game coins” and “xbox money” they called it. Got away from the space for a decade and came back in 2017. Knew of a friend who kept ordering dominos EVERYDAY but wasn’t employed. I asked how he was doing it and he ran me through the process and it was the dumb game coins! THE DUMB GAME COINS WENT UP IN VALUE! I’m talking THOUSANDS! After that i did extensive research on this technology and found the underlying layer called BLOCKCHAIN which was a whole world in itself! At the time Bitcoin Cash and LiteCoin were going crazy! Then i joined discords looking for community around this technology and i couldn’t help but see jargons such as WAGMI and WEB3. Dug a little deeper. WAGMI is more of a financial decision within the community to hold and never sell investments in BTC but Web3 IS the community! With virtual events, real world assets, earning, building, and Smart Contracts, a user could never get bored! Coming from a Networking/CyberSecurity background, a few terms that are used in Web3 seemed familiar to me because of Cryptography!

Not a coder at all. Matter of fact, i never coded. Im more of a OSI layer, Entry Level Help Desk Guy. Being honest im still studying for Net+ and Sec+. I have practiced labs and minimal scripting languages like Bash, CLI, Powershell and others. Never went Corporate but i have SOC analyst level knowledge. Something about Solidity made me come out of my shell. The fact that smart contracts acts like a escrow with no centralized authority with wallet log ins and Decentralized identities, made me believe that there is a new solution to privacy and security on the web. Crypto is Financial, Political, and technical. For me, i’ll focus on the latter. Made a Github and read reports on SM attacks. Funds getting plummeted from contracts being re-entered. Tens of thousands and millions! I want to be the one to thwart those attacks and make crypto a better and safer platform for everyone. I’m watching a youtube course by a guy named Patrick. He’s ALPHA. 32 hrs of smart contract stuff. Ill be honest, its challenging and confusing but im putting in effort. I see people coming into this space with web2 coding knowledge and COMPLETELY CRUSHING IT! Checking the leaderboards and they’re winning THOUSANDS 3 months in! Comparison is the thief of joy but BOY i can’t wait to get to that level! I always wanted to be Spider-Man as a youth and now i feel like i finally have a chance to be a hero on the web!

Im writing this because i have toured all over the Web3 world and i think I’ll be staying in Smart Contract land. Its chaotic, but thats where the beauty and innovation lies.
