The gateway to web3

The term "web3" is a new concept that aims to rethink the relationship between platforms, users, property and data. This horizon offers exciting possibilities and a reflection on the protection of users in the digital space. This new evolution of the internet is not only about technological innovation but reveals an evolution of the thinking and usefulness of the web. In order to achieve this new breakthrough, it is necessary to build a space of trust, a trust that has been broken by many platforms.

The relationship built over a decade between users and digital platforms has been broken. The multiple issues related to the use of data and the asymmetry that has been reinforced between platforms and users require a renewal of trust between the user and the service producer.

Trust is the fundamental element for any economic construction. From the beginning, the Internet has been driven by the desire to build an environment of trust and freedom that has allowed billions of users around the world to have access to information 24 hours a day and to connect billions of people through applications. But today, this system offers a limited horizon of overcoming.

Is blockchain a solution?

The creation of bitcoin and other crypto-assets was driven by the ambition to build a trusted, transparent and secure system. Individuals who enter this market trust in protocols, projects secured through the blockchain. The development of these systems has been supported for several years by decentralized finance products, and has seen an explosion in 2021 notably thanks to NFTs. Beyond these financial applications, it is interesting to underline the contributions of blockchain in the construction of a new internet focused on value and ownership: ownership of assets and data. These services also allow to rethink privacy and data management between users and applications. This evolution is made possible by new indexing protocols and new data architectures in the service of decentralization.

Beyond the question of infrastructures, decentralized applications mark another breakthrough by proposing a new construction model for platforms and a new economic model that places the user not as a product but as an actor in the development of applications. Based on transparency, dapps collect a minimum of user data. Far from being a simple gadget, decentralized applications offer a new horizon for digital platforms.

This horizon is however limited by the current technical development and the complexity of accessing decentralized applications. These issues include access to networks such as IPFS, the interaction between search engines and blockchain, and UX issues that need to be rethought in order to achieve adoption.

Our solution

Aware of the issues and the need to participate in the construction of an internet of value for users. We launched a few weeks ago a beta version allowing everyone to browse and use blockchain applications under Ethereum. This beta version aims at first to be a simple gateway to the web3.

This first version is only the starting point of a long term ambition to become the easiest and safest way to navigate in this new web. To do so, we want to follow a three-step development process: building simple client interfaces, building a layer of applications and protocols allowing the interaction between blockchains and building infrastructures allowing the development of this ecosystem.

Thanks to this triptych, we are aiming at a long-term adoption of blockchain services.

Stay tuned!
