2022 Schoolkit Initiative Report

Dear valued donors and supporters,

There are over 98 million out-of-school children in Africa, and those still in school lack essential learning materials to achieve their dreams.

Last year, two such NGOs, The Helpmates Foundation and Teens Trust Foundation, struggled to raise funds for their annual year-end school kits initiatives due to the country's dire economic situation.

This was why I created Gift a School Kit App: https://sponsoraschoolkit.com/, and with your generosity, we raised a total of 2 million Naira($2537) from outside donors, which we used to sponsor school kits for over 300 children in need.

Donations

We received donations on the Binance, Ethereum and Solana blockchains - they can all be tracked using our address: 0xFfA55b403bF021D92F3C166a1280cDfCcBc8D022

Donations are also listed on our website.

Transfers

To get these donations to the chosen NGOs, we used https://sendcash.africa/ - the cheapest blockchain-based alternative. They also accepted USDT (Tron), meaning transactions were as cheap as $1 or less. These transfers are also on-chain.

We currently have $337.31 in the BSC-USD stablecoin, and $40 is USDC(Solana). Some of these will be disbursed to other education initiatives I've identified, while the rest will be kept for next year's drive.

Donation Drive

The school kits included essential items such as notebooks, pens, pencils, and school bags, as well as other educational materials and resources. We distributed the kits to schools in underserved communities(Lagos and Ogun States), where many children do not have access to the necessary tools and supplies to succeed in their education.

We received an overwhelmingly positive response from the schools and the children who received the school kits. Many expressed gratitude for the support and shared how much the kits have already helped them in their studies.

Both initiatives were also covered by the media:

We are incredibly grateful for your support, which has made a real difference in the lives of these children. We are committed to supporting children in need and improving access to education in underserved communities.

Thank you again for your generosity and support. We could not have accomplished this important work without you. :)
