Do you feel represented? When you get your news, from the internet, TV, Radio, do you feel like those in power have your best interest in mind? Rarely do I find myself represented.
I describe myself as a Democrat with strong support for individual decisions. After the last 5 years, I won’t ever vote for another member of the democratic party. They have betrayed the trust of the American people, and undermined their own party for their own fiscal gain. Nancy Pelosi being the number one offender. I have little doubt the primaries were swayed to the “man of the party”, but there is no recourse for an individual like me. Even when there is recourse, it is years down the road, far after anything can be done about the actions they took in office.
I want a future where communities are empowered so the whole can be better. We are too large and different to come together on some things. But cities, neighborhoods, and small groups can be very effective in executing policy when done correctly. I suggest a radical change to the status quo. One where municipalities are strong and power is siphoned from the confines of Washington DC and placed where the people are. One where our democratically elected leaders can be held accountable by their peers. Not their constituents, their peers. No more closed door meetings under the guise of national security. It has become clear that the people’s priorities are not the priorities of our elected officials, but instead lies in obtaining media time and lining their own pockets with our hard earned dollars.
It is time to weaponize our voice to enact our will.
