Hello friends,
I’ve got some exciting news. Many of you have been collecting my artwork for over 20 years, in fact some of you have enough Godard Art on your walls to open up your own gallery! News coverage about this new digital world is taking over the headlines. 90% of of the world have no idea what an NFT is !!
So don’t feel alone!
In the most concise way that I can put it (and it can be complicated) Crypto and NFTs are natural evolution of advances in technology.
THE PAST
20 years ago when the internet was first introduced, no one understood it or it’s potential. Then, suddenly we were no longer standing at a copy machine all day, or trying to fax a photograph…
For example, I’m sure you agree that less and less of us actually carry cash anymore. Put my bills on autopay please, no envelopes, no stamps, no work to do when I’m preoccupied w my vacation and no late fees. Yea , gotta love our modern day.
Email and the Internet have revolutionized our world on a scale that no one could’ve imagined. This is exactly how cryptocurrency has started changing the world.
PHYSICAL ART VS DIGITAL ART
You can compare it to movies from 50 years ago using backdrops that were actually hand painted. Now it’s replaced with high tech art created on computers that are 100 times more real and believable, by artists who have never picked up a paintbrush.
There is real value in the Mona Lisa, a painting that took years to create that’s physical, that is tangible, that hangs on your walls. That’s not going away.
I AM a physical artist. I’ve trained my eyes and hands to pick up a paintbrush to express the ideas I have in my head. Now for the first time, I have an opportunity to bridge those two worlds, combining fine art made by hand with modern technology.
NFT WHAT? NFTs are a digital asset, that are unique and one of a kind, like an original painting, and changing the art world as we speak, but NFTs are specific to the digital world. So bridging the gap between NFT art and physical is one of my goals. The funny thing is most ppl think of NFTs as cartoon like, pixelated like old Atari games, or simply looks like child play. But it’s so much more. Digital art like VR , AR , allow art to be immersive, accompanied by music, and offer an infinite it amount of possibilities never experienced that a 2 dimensional canvas cant do.
DIGITALS FOR NEWBEES
Let’s pretend we’re all little kids, surrounded by adults who spit out words we don’t understand, like sitting down with someone who’s been in the military for years and everything they talk about is in abbreviations. Lol. Let’s be real,. Im new so I need things explained to me like a kid in a language I can understand. And that’s what we are here for and understand. No such thing a a dumb question.
KEEP MY $ SAFE There was a time when sharing my personal information on a phone or computer freaked me out. At first it was difficult. Now I have a lot of my personal information shared thru my phone, my computer and specifically the banks who hold my safe.
If something strange happens w my finances, I’m able to talk to someone , like my bank for instance, who can resolve any concern I have…. Enter discord.
WHATS DISCORD?
Discord is your community of likeminded people, gathering in a place where our friends, fans are like family and can talk and ask questions in a comfortable place about any topic. It’s a place where there are people with experience (moderators) to answer your questions and just general support, where no question is silly. Its also a place where news and current updates are shared as well as a place you can just hang out and have fun.
HOMEWORK
Enter YouTube. If you need to learn a little bit more about what NFTs stands for or what an NFT actually is, in a way that is easy to comprehend, then YouTube is a great place to start as well. U can learn how to do anything. Including the first steps to discord, (your community) , or learning to set up a digital wallet and connect to various places, like opensea (a huge marketplace where you can buy and sell nft art)
