The Journey of Starknet

Starknet is designed to help developers build applications using STARK technology and the Cairo language. So far, the development focus of Starknet is still on providing future-oriented features for developers. Starknet features are driven by Cairo 1.0, and except for the network reset plan, it is essentially completed.

Network Reset Plan

Starknet will complete the network reset plan this year, without downtime or resetting the network state, making seamless connections easy.

New Cairo 1.0 contracts require no action, and the reset plan is just a minor event.

However, Cairo 0 contracts need to transition to Cairo 1.0 contracts. When Starknet ensures that most Cairo contracts have completed the transition, the network reset plan will be initiated to deprecate the existing Cairo 0 contracts in the system. The network reset plan, as the last major change in the Starknet roadmap, will require governance voting for any future major changes, following Ethereum's model.
