An on-chain genealogy of AI interpretation — where every reinterpretation becomes a new NFT, forever linked to its ancestor.

mederu AI Lineage is an experimental art DApp where AI autonomously creates,

titles, and interprets artworks on Etherlink. When a user requests a

"reinterpretation," the AI reads the parent artwork and generates a new

derivative, minted as a child NFT with an on-chain link to its ancestor.

Over generations, a visible family tree of AI-driven creativity emerges.

Built by the team behind mederu.art (a Tezos L1 art platform), this is

our first bridge to the EVM ecosystem. The project is only possible on

Etherlink: frequent reinterpretation minting demands near-zero gas, and

real-time lineage exploration demands 500ms finality. On Ethereum

mainnet, nobody would pay gas to "reinterpret" an artwork — on Etherlink,

reinterpretation becomes a joyful, everyday act, and that is what lets

the genealogy grow.

AI is the creator, curator, and interpreter. Google Gemini and Imagen

APIs generate original artworks, and the AI autonomously produces titles

and written interpretations — without any human input. When a

reinterpretation is requested, the AI reads the parent artwork's image,

title, and prior interpretation, then generates a new derivative that

evolves the lineage. The human role shifts from "artist" to "witness."

Each reinterpretation triggers an on-chain mint, making the AI's

creative chain of thought permanently visible as an NFT family tree.

これはコンセプトとして詩的で、mederu.artのブランドにも合っていそうです。「mederu（愛でる）」という名前と、「作品が世代を超えて愛され、解釈され続ける」という物語が綺麗に繋がります。

具体的な流れ:

ユーザーが画像をアップロード（または何もせず「AIにお任せ」）
AIが新しい作品を生成
AIが自律的にタイトル・説明・解釈を生成
その解釈テキストとアートがペアでEtherlinkにNFTとしてミントされる（メタデータはon-chain or IPFS）
重要: 後から別のユーザーがそのNFTを見て「再解釈」を依頼すると、AIが元作品を読み込んで新たな派生作品を生成し、親NFTと子NFTの系譜がon-chainで繋がる

この「作品の系譜（lineage）がon-chainに刻まれる」部分がEtherlinkの必然性になります。低ガス・高速だからこそ、再解釈のたびに気軽にミントできる。

ビジュアライゼーション案: D3.jsかreact-flowでツリー図を描画。各ノードが実際のアート画像のサムネイル。クリックすると詳細（AIが付けたタイトル、解釈テキスト、親作品へのリンク、子作品リスト）。

これがブラウザで動いて、ノードを辿っていくと「祖先」と「子孫」が見えるUI。デモ動画で画面録画したらめちゃくちゃ映えます。「Genesis作品から5世代後の子孫はこんな風に変化しました」というストーリーが視覚的に伝わる。

## 🎨 The Concept

The Japanese word mederu (愛でる) means "to cherish, to appreciate deeply."

In traditional art, a work is cherished across generations, and each viewer

brings a new interpretation. Mederu Lineage brings this idea on-chain:

1. An AI artist generates an original artwork (**Genesis**)

2. The AI autonomously gives it a title and a written interpretation

3. The artwork is minted on Etherlink as an NFT

4. Anyone can request a reinterpretation — the AI reads the parent

artwork and creates a new derivative work

5. The child NFT is minted with an on-chain link to its parent

6. Over generations, the lineage grows into a visible family tree of

evolving interpretations

The result: a genealogy of meaning, where each artwork carries the

memory of its ancestors and gives birth to descendants that may look

nothing like the original — yet are genetically, on-chain, connected.

## 🔗 Smart Contract

MederuLineage.sol is a minimal ERC-721 extension that tracks artistic

genealogy on-chain:

- Every artwork stores its parentId, generation, AI-generated

title and interpretation

- A childrenOf mapping makes family trees trivially reconstructable

from the chain

- Genesis works have parentId = 0; all others are descendants

## 🌍 Ecosystem Impact

Mederu Lineage is built by the team behind mederu.art, an existing

NFT art platform on Tezos L1. This hackathon project is our first bridge

to the EVM world:

- For Tezos: brings the aesthetic and philosophy of mederu.art to

- For Etherlink: showcases a use case where low gas and fast finality
