Modern ski slopes annually attract a lot of athletes and lovers of skiing or snowboarding. Of course, most often here you can meet experienced professional skiers. Here all the necessary conditions are created for them - descents of any complexity and natural snow-covered ascents. However, beginners also like to spend time in ski resorts, enjoying a new unusual pastime.
Various competitions, subject to suitable weather, are often arranged on natural slopes. Also, snowboarding fans often come to such locations, riding both steep and gentle slopes at the same time. This sport has been extremely popular since 1988, from the moment it was included in the general program of the Olympic Games. Also, some of the modern ski slopes have sufficient equipment and facilities to accommodate bobsledders. For their training, as a rule, a specific ice trough is required, fixed on a solid reinforced concrete base. Typically, such a route is characterized by a height difference of 130 meters, an abundance of sharp turns. The length of such a trough is usually about 2 km. Bobsleigh was included in the list of the Olympic Games long before snowboarding (since 1924), but despite this, it is somewhat less popular.
