What to read for a continuing tester?
After I was done with Unethical, I ended up picking up a book by Jim Kaufman called Creative Gene.
I started to read it, and quickly learned that he also wrote the Harvard / McKinsey study I had seen a couple of months before.
Some of what I read in the book seemed familiar to me.
He and Kaufman seemed to make a strong case for writing a memo a week, rather than a book a year.
I like the idea of getting books out for review without a huge wait.
I have enough trouble picking what to read as it is.
I don't need any extra distractions!
The book ended up just being a discussion on creativity and creativity tests.
I think it was written by someone who was hired to write the book.
And even though it was an interesting read, the writing was not very good.
I ended up just skimming through some of the pages.
I probably should have just read something else.
Kaufman spends a lot of time defining what creativity is, and all the different elements involved.
