Students

Rais was waiting in the hall when the door opened and a smiling male student entered. He wore a soft-colored robe, but Rais could see his smooth chest from where he stood and noted the reddish hues under the man’s shirt. In spite of his shock, he calmly set down his bag. “Rais,” the man greeted in his smooth voice. Rais tried to stand, but his legs went weak. He remained seated, listening as the student introduced himself. “I’m learning to read, but it is much harder than I thought it would be. Your first week is a difficult one. “The students, that is,” the student added as he gestured toward the door. Come, I’ll show you the proper seating.” Rais shook himself and managed to straighten up, though he had to lean against the wall for support. He refused to explain to the student the stress he was under and insisted that he sit. His nerves calmed and he listened as the student walked through the entire room explaining what each student was doing and how each student was working.
