Hey Future Self,
How’s it going? I hope this finds you well!
I’ve been meaning to write to you for a long time now, so I’m glad I’m finally starting. I have a lot to catch you up on and share with you.
Remember when people wrote letters by hand? What a wonderful feeling! You can feel so many things through the penmanship. It was like a piece of the person’s soul. It felt so personal and sacred. I remember when Dad wrote Mom love letters and she would frame the really special ones and leave it by her bedside. I wonder where those are now…
I picked up two ArtBlocks pieces recently that remind me of such times. Here, take a look. Its part of a collection called “Letters to My Future Self”:

Aren’t they gorgeous? I’ll have more to share with you on this collection in future letters…
Thanks to distributed ledger technology, I feel very good to know that this letter will get to you, and that it won’t be lost (like the letters of the past). Even Web2 couldn’t guarantee that! I’m trying out this mirror.xyz experiment where they convert these letters into an NFT. I’m pretty blown away by the idea of it so let me try to tell you a little bit more.
We’re now able to just release our thoughts, and it’ll have a proven and verifiable timestamp of when those ideas first started brewing. It can more easily help people locate each other and coordinate earlier if they are both are convinced of a certain idea, since it’s easier to locate the origin. And since NFT’s can have prices, it might incentivize even more people to just “think in the open”, even before the execution stage of the idea. I’m excited to see where this goes.
Anyways, I’ll be sharing with you all things that are being built in this space , the things that remind me why I love this space so much in the first place. I’m still as wide-eyed as the first day I discovered and bought Bitcoin. So.much.new.infrastructure. So many new domains. All new and uncharted frontiers. I love the human ingenuity on display, and I’m truly blessed to be alive, to be a witness, to be able to share this journey with you.
I want you to look back and admire all the beautiful things that came to fruit from seed, all the silly things that didn’t pan out, all the wonderful art of all forms that mean a lot to me. Talk to you soon!
Yours Truly,
Present Self
P.S. I’ll be picking up more crypto for you in this bear market so that you’ll have more to enjoy!
