Under The Sun, Blessed With The Stars

The day was both sunny and blazingly hot

It was both hard to breathe and stuffy

It was all of that, yet, she was more than that

I'm not a fan of bright lights, it hurts my eyes

But, when she appeared, the sun wasn't nearly hot enough

Nor was it bright enough to cover her shine

The leaves on the trees were greener, the air fresher

She smelled like Mama's Sunday jollof rice topped up with some ice cream

She looked so breathtaking, she smiled so beautifully

Like the feeling you get from hitting the blunt

Every moment in her presence was like a new high

Every laugh she made, my eyes lit up in happiness

She was beautiful, she was amazing

She was the sun, even when the sun was out

And I loved every moment of it

And when all is said and done, her smile is that which brings me joy
