A full guide on how to deploy smart contract on Base(A layer-2) to be eligible for Early Builder NFT.
Base is a layer 2 of Coinbase. BuildOnBase Quest is live & a NFT is available to claim for those who deploy a smart contract on Base testnet.
On this guide, we will deploy a smart contract using Thirdweb & claim NFT.
Add Base Goerli to metamask — https://chainlist.org/chain/84531
There is two method of getting fund on base:
Take gETH from https://goerlifaucet.com/ > Bridge/Deposit gETH to Base https://bridge.base.org/deposit
Take Base ETH from https://www.coinbase.com/faucets/base-ethereum-goerli-faucet but to get ETH from here you need Coinbase wallet
Go to https://thirdweb.com/thirdweb.eth/DropERC721 > Connect wallet (Select Base as network).
Click on ‘Setting’ .
Search base > Select/Click ‘Base Goerli Testnet’ > Click ‘Add Network’.
Click ‘Deploy now’
Give it Name, Description, Symbol & Image. You can update Royalities to 10 or 15 %. Keep other details as default just make sure Base Goerli Testnet selected as network > Click ‘Deploy Now’ > Wait patiently for confirmation > Confirm on Wallet.
Go to Contracts or click on ‘Contracts’ > Copy your Contact Address.
Go to https://quests.base.org/ > connect wallet
Click ‘Start Quest’ > accept term & conditon > Click ‘Continue’ > Enter your Contact address > Click ‘Verify Transaction’ > Click ‘Continue’ > Click ‘Mint NFT’ > Confirm on wallet
