1. Download Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/

Remember to download on the official website, or on a guaranteed platform, do not download Chrome from unknown sources.

2. Download the metamask in Chrome

The official website of metamask is https://metamask.io/

Click Download, then select Chrome, Install metamask for Chrome

At this time, it will jump to the Chrome app store

Then add the plugin to the Chrome browser.

After the installation is complete, the metamask little fox icon will appear in the plug-in bar of the browser, and the installation is complete and you can start using it.

3. Getting started

1) Create wallet

Follow the guide step by step, and click "Get Started"

2) Import or create

According to your habits, if you like to use your old wallet as a web wallet, you can directly use the mnemonic to import the wallet, and then you can use it directly in metamask. As a new user or want to create a new wallet to use as metamask, click Create Wallet.

The specific precautions can be viewed according to the previous lessons, which can be created after disconnecting the network to ensure sufficient security of the computer.

The metamask needs to create a password first. This password must be remembered by yourself. This password is the key for users to operate the wallet and view the mnemonic. If you forget the mnemonic phrase later, in the absence of a password, the wallet will not be able to recover, resulting in asset loss!

4. Add network

In the network settings, you can find the place to add the network. When you need to use other networks, you need to switch networks. If the network to be switched exists in the metamask preset, just click it. Some dapps will also help import network.

For some websites without this function, we need to manually add the network. The first method is to search for the added network information of this chain on the Internet, then copy it to the grid as shown in the figure, and click Save to switch to this network.

A lot of networks can be seen here, as well as mainnets and testnets can be automatically added here.

5. Using Dapps

The browser plug-in version of Metamask is the tool for the vast majority of people to access Dapps. Because it is in the browser, it can be well connected to the web page.

In Dapp, click connect a wallet, usually in the upper right corner of the page.

This step is to select a wallet to connect with the web page. Choose the one you want to connect with. Then click Next. If metamask has been unlocked in advance, this interface will appear directly. If you are not logged in, you may need a password to unlock the wallet.

In this step of signing the authorization, you must pay attention to the security of the authorized Dapp to prevent wallet assets from being threatened.

In this way, the Metamask is successfully connected to the Dapp.

For using high-risk dapps, it is necessary to ensure that the funds in the connected wallet are bearable losses, and do not operate with the main wallet. The security of these dapps needs to be verified, which may pose a threat to funds.

When trading on a DEX, you should also pay attention to the security of the contract when you click approve to authorize the token. Approvements will allow the dapp to use the assets in your wallet. You must be cautious about unfamiliar projects. Wallets that often use high-risk dapps must control funds, and then cancel authorizations and approvements regularly.
