As one of the many new people to the space there is this thing that I assure you are not alone in experiencing. “The Awkward” is what I am calling it. Its this really weird feeling when it comes to networking with everyone. Messaging in discord servers for hours. Talking to randos online about your goals and what you want to do. Trying to learn new stuff from the people but they all seem to have this chip on their shoulder and talk as if they were born into “Web3 royalty”.
It’s all so awkward…but think back to when you got into your chosen passionary path. Those first few months getting into the design space or the music space. Its the same thing here. Regardless of the “willingness to teach” it’s still a prove yourself space. People gotta know you are serious about it. That you have more to offer than the project itself. That you wanna see this play out for the longevity. Prove yourself by creating awesome projects. Prove yourself by telling your story with every ounce of passion. Prove yourself by being consistent! (Consistency is key to 100% of success so practice that over everything) “The Awkward” is starting to fade isn’t it? Because you are realizing you’ve done this all before.
That is how I adapted. I am less of a talker and more of a doer when it comes to my “proving myself”. So it takes me longer to get the point across sometimes. I just like to show people the ideas and the passion rather than talk about it. Maybe you are the same? Or maybe you want to be loud and proud with your ideas and talk your head off. Either way, fuel your journey with passion and don’t let it be awkward. Adapt by realizing it’s all familiar. Different landscape with similar obstacles.
When people start to see you are serious, trust that you’ll break through the noise and stuff will start to come to life.
