Creating the prototype of the application icons using Indonesian Mentawai tribe style was a fun and exciting project that allowed me to explore a new design style while also using my creativity and design skills to create a functional and visually appealing product. I look forward to taking on similar challenges in the future and continuing to expand my design portfolio.

The Mentawai are the indigenous people of the Mentawai Islands, about 100 miles from the province of West Sumatra, Indonesia. This tribe is known as gatherers and when they were first studied they were not familiar with farming. A typical tradition is the use of tattoos all over the body, which are related to the user's role and social status.

I found myself drawn to the enchanting world of the Mentawai tribe. The Mentawai people, living harmoniously with nature on the remote islands, possessed a treasure trove of artistry and symbolism waiting to be unlocked.
