Non-fungible tokens, or NFT, are units of data on a digital ledger called a blockchain, where each Token can represent a unique digital profile and serve as an electronic authentication or certificate for ownership of virtual goods.  Due to their non-interchangeable nature, non-homogeneous tokens can represent digital assets such as paintings, artwork, sounds, videos, projects in games, or other forms of creative work.  While the works themselves can be copied indefinitely, the tokens representing them can be fully tracked on the underlying blockchain, thus providing buyers with proof of ownership.  Cryptocurrencies such as Ether and Bitcoin have their own token standards that define the use of NFT
