45,000

In 2020 I made a phone call to my mom. She’s in her 60s (please don’t tell her I told you that). If I’m being frank, I was terrified for her.

Anti-Asian hate crimes increased by over 300% nationwide in 2021 when compared to the prior record-breaking year. During his time in office, 45 used the phrases “China virus”, “Chinese virus”, “Kung Flu” countless times when referring to Covid-19. He is also on the record saying “I beat this crazy, horrible China virus” a week after testing positive for Covid-19. In his own archives, he boasts of his record for holding China accountable for the Coronavirus Pandemic.

”Please be careful when you’re out, Mom.” ”I am, I’m still wearing my mask everywhere.” ”No, I mean like when you’re walking in the parking lot at work, or at the grocery store…”

We are Korean Americans.

Through an executive order, 45 created the 1776 Commission, in direct opposition to the 1619 Project.

He’s more famously known for things like, grabbing women by the pussy, calling Mexicans drug dealers, criminals and rapists, creating the Muslim ban, and well - January 6th. This list could go on and on, but honestly I’m exhausted of even remembering it all.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen people capitalize on the suffering of people.

Supporting 45 and whatever his plans are for 2024 means being complicit in these things. Supporting 45 means that profit is more important than people. Supporting 45 is the capitalization of the suffering of people.

Whether it’s $99, or 10% of profits, those who have minted *45’*s NFT have just made contributions to his campaign. I’m not sure if it’s possible to wash your hands of that. And if I may be so bold to say, having the privilege of the ignorance of impact is one that many of us are not afforded.

So, no I didn’t mint it. Why?

Because I’d rather not have to make that phone call to my mom again.
