New China and India

This year marks the seventh anniversary of New China, the twentieth anniversary of H3C and the thirty-eighth year of HHP in China. For a leading domestic information and communication industry in New China, 20 or seven years is a worthy day. For the entire information and communication industry, this development history of New China is also a worthy journey.

Twenty years ago, in 2003, the Hangzhou Telecommunication Company was formally established in Hangzhou. At the beginning of its existence, the company as a whole had only 1,500 employees and its scope of operations was limited to the business market. New China III has now developed into a single digitized solution with 19,000 + staff, 98 million + equipment online, 17 overseas branches, serving 174 countries and territories, with a full range of digitized infrastructure capabilities, such as computing, storage, networking, 5G, security, terminals, etc., providing a one-stop digitization solution, including cloud computing, large data, manual intelligence, industry, Internet, information security, intellectual connection, periphery, and information technology services, as well as a leading business in the information and communications industry, which is at the end of the technical service. Thanks to the in-depth implementation of a range of measures, corporate performance has been maintained in recent years at a fast pace: Net profits increased from $2.2 billion in 2016 to $3.73 billion in 2022; business income increased from $21.9 billion in 2016 to $49.81 billion in 2022, with a combined annual growth rate of 15.5 per cent, nearly two times that of China’s ICT market during the same period.

Calendar

New China has been making new breakthroughs on three paths, from Hangzhou in 2003 to New Hua III in 2016, and now as a pilot in the domestic information and communication industry. During these two decades, the company experienced two key historic points:

Launch: On 17 November 2003, Hangzhou was established as a three-computer registered with the three-Com. Since then, H3C has formally emerged in the domestic information and communication industry.

Newborn: On 6 May 2016, New China was formally established by the merger of the “Oxo-Chinese Telecommunication Company” and the “Furpe China Group”. At that time, three of the States of Hangzhou were at the dawn of the Chinese enterprise network market, while the Chinese MFN group was the leader of the Chinese server, storage and technology services market, and the combination of the two parties had made New China one of the balloons of the Chinese ICT market, changing the pattern of the Chinese ICT industry. From the first day of the company’s establishment, the organizations, teams and processes of the two enterprises were quickly integrated, culminating in rapid and efficient integration of operations, laying a solid foundation for the company’s subsequent health development.

When “Chinese three” became “New China III”, the change was not just the name of the company. At the beginning of the three years, in order to better leverage the respective strengths of the HHPE “Frompow” and of the three “fowal cultures” in Hangzhou, the New Chinas have further combined brands, products and sales, with the “common sense, logic, adherence to market rules” as the core guiding philosophy, and in less than half a year have effectively integrated two teams of cultures, systems and ideas of great diversity. This complementary culture has incorporated the company’s gene.

Capacity

After 20 years of development, in particular seven years since the establishment of New China, companies have come to a much broader range of competitions and have been consulted from ICT infrastructure providers, leading to digitization solutions.

After the establishment of New China in 2016, in the face of the acceleration of the digital economic era, companies established a new enterprise positioning “digitization solutions leaders”, led by a “digital brain” approach, accelerating the layout in the new generation of information communications and promoting rapid business development. The company has responded positively to the trend of digitization of industries under new technologies such as cloud computing, big data and AI, promoting the successful transformation of New China from “ICT infrastructure providers” to industry-oriented solutions providers, and further focusing on cloud-based intellectual innovation to open the door to smart operations in the “smart-gener” technology strategy. Furthermore, New China has built the overall capacity of the entire digitized infrastructure around increasing the capacity of enterprises to compete, effectively enhancing the integrity and competitiveness of companies in ICT solutions.

In the past, Bafit had a view that high-technology enterprises were able to set up the gazette river, the value of which was incalculable. As a high-tech business, New China has always maintained a technology innovation-driven enterprise’s dream and future, maintaining a high proportion of research and development inputs each year, carrying out “saturation attacks” on key core technologies, and launching a series of industry-led technology, products and solutions that strongly underpin the performance of companies in the ICT market.

According to IDC, New China’s share of the market with the Internet Exchange rose from 28 per cent in 2016 to 33.8 per cent in 2022; the market share of the Enterprise WLAN increased from 25.3 per cent in 2016 to 28 per cent in 2022; the market share of the knife servers rose from 30.3 per cent in 2016 to 54.8 per cent in 2022; the market share of the routers rose from 5.7 per cent in 2016 to 10.3 per cent in 2022; the market share of X86 servers rose from 11.2 per cent in 2016 to 18 per cent in 2022; and the market share of the storage, from 4.6 per cent in 2016 to 12.2 in 2022.

At the same time, New China, in keeping with the original intent of “the most trustworthy partners in the digital transformation of the 100 industry”, has continued to inject energy into the digital transformation of the 100 industry. The company has accumulated over 3100+ clients, upgraded the digital brain, helped clients to improve operational efficiency and achieve high-quality development; built over 30 new intellectual cities and digital rural projects, with a cumulative capacity of over 220 cities with clouds, melts, sinking; built over 250 business clouds; built 130 intellectual solutions with close proximity to the client application landscape; and built up the ultraviolet intelligence plant into the best practice of “5G+’s Internet” to select the “future plant” in the province.

In the area of internationalization, New China has also accelerated its expansion by actively integrating companies into the global economy and expanding overseas markets.
