Brewer Escapes from Alcatraz

Hi, world. How have you been? I know you haven't heard from me in a while but the training for life never stops. In an effort to continually push me outside of my comfort zone, I found a race that'll put my mental and physical fortitude to the test. The Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon. This is a unique race in San Francisco. It may be short but the course is treacherous. It starts off with a 1.5 miles swim from Alcatraz island then biking 18 miles through the hills of San Francisco and finishing up with an 8 mile run that includes something they call the sand ladder. Challenge accepted. I've put in the hours, i've sacrificed time with friends so now it's time to execute. If you have time check me out on the Escape Alcatraz tracker or Twitter.

Feel good. Feel ready!
Feel good. Feel ready!

Six Steps to any Definite Goal

  1. Fix in your mind the exact goal you desire. It is not sufficient to say "I want to achieve my goal." Be definite in what you want to achieve

  2. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the goal you desire (There is no such reality as "something for nothing")

  3. Establish a definite date when you intend to achieve the goal you desire

  4. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, it doesn't matter if you are ready or not, put your plan into action

  5. Write out a clear concise statement of the goal you intend to achieve, set a time limit for the achievement, state what you intend to sacrifice in return, and describe clearly the plan that'll achieve your goal

  6. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once in the morning and once before you go to bed. When you read it, believe and feel yourself achiveing that goal.
