In The End

At the end of it all, what do you want to be known for? You were the hardest working person in your office? You reached the C suite and finally achieved the golden toilet? Your name was brandished all over the news outlets?  These accomplishments all take hard work and that is admirable. But what was the cost? Did you neglect your family or impact others negatively on your rise to notoriety? It’s worthwhile to step back and take account of the things that are important and find a balance that works best for your situation. Self awareness is hard but if you practice it and seek feedback from your intimate friends you’ll gain perspective and understand what you need to do. It’s not always easy changing a habit or balancing out ambition and what’s important in life. Those lines can often blur together but think what would you want your tombstone to read when it’s all over?
