Achievement used to the value I had most pursued in my life. A sense of achievement is worth of becoming the meaning of my life.
Struggling to make my life meaningful presented me strong career; I got a job right after I graduated from university. I successfully accomplished every project that I was in charge of. I was recognized by my boss with my outstanding performance, increasing the salary sharply.
However, those achievements seemed pointless because they didn’t last long. The fulfilling moments that I believed I made disappeared all of sudden. So, I thought they were not enough to teach me the meaning of life. Yet, the more I achieved, the more I became unsure of what life means. Whenever I got to be skeptical about uncertainty of the present, the future could release my anxiety. Thoughts of what I finally could earn in the future pushed me forwards.
Actually, I was relying on the future to find the purpose of life. I realized that the future I pictured in the past is the present and so will it be.
Upon the realization, I started to view my life differently. I began to appreciate focusing on the process is more valuable than the outcome itself. The journey might not be delightful as fruits, but I’m sure it will nourish my life. On top of that, it will give me the lessons from failures and about how to see life beyond the obstacles.
Now, I am confident of every moments since I trust that the challenge I will face empowers me to grow even further.
