But first: it feels good to be here again. How’ve you been, mfer? A lot has changed since my first post on Sketchy Mfers. There was no AI back then to auto-write you a heartfelt message about the project. Just me and a keyboard. That’s how it started, and that’s how we’ll continue.

I’ve been watching Base since @sartoshi_rip launched mfercoin, and I loved it. I loved the way the chain worked, the possibilities with it. Most of all, I loved the low fees. I knew they were essential for Sketchy Mfers—along with other mfer derivatives—to really thrive. I minted Based Mfers when they released and watched them grow. After much urging from the Sketchy Mfers community, I believe now is the time to "migrate" over to a home that allows for low-cost trading, on a stable and growing network that has proven itself as a hub for mfers and mfer-based projects.

@zhougsoft is in the final stages of creating a new Sketchy Mfers contract on Base, which holds an exact recreation of the collection. The contract even points to the original artwork! It is Sketchy Mfers, just on Base.
Very soon here we are going to airdrop you a new Sketchy Mfer, on Base, that matches the exact OG one you held on the Ethereum network. You won’t need to burn anything or interact with Ethereum to get this new Sketchy Mfer. It will simply be airdropped to you for free to the wallet where you held your OG Sketchy Mfer (but now it lives on Base).
This airdrop has not happened yet as of writing this post, but it will soon. I will post again here on Mirror detailing when the airdrop will happen when we get closer. As I type, @zhougsoft is working hard to ensure the airdrop will happen safely and efficiently.
We are also creating a new website for Sketchy Mfers that will have all relevant info regarding this migration and links on where to trade it. We will let you know when it’s ready!
When we launched Sketchy Mfers on Ethereum, scammers created fake collections to trick mfers. Please wait patiently for the official airdrop announcement, and follow links posted only by the official Sketchy Mfers X account.

A: It’s still just Sketchy Mfers. The "Based" is silent.
Q: Why aren’t you requiring a burn to claim the Base Sketchy Mfer?
A: Gas fees. Mfers don’t want to spend ETH to burn and claim—just look at the current market. Ethereum is a great home for art but a costly chain to interact with. We’re skipping the fees and sending it to you for free.
Q: What should I do with my OG Sketchy Mfer on Ethereum?
A: Whatever you want, mfer. Keep it, trade it, burn it, or send it to an mfer for fun. It’s yours forever.
Q: Should I keep both my Ethereum and Base Sketchy Mfers?
A: That’s up to you, mfer. The Ethereum one is a piece of history. The Base one is easier to trade. Some mfers might value holding both. Others might flip one and keep the other. Do what feels right.
Q: Does this migration mean the Ethereum Sketchy Mfers are worthless now?
A: Not at all. The Ethereum collection still exists and is part of mfer history. This is just another chapter. Some might see them as relics, others might trade them differently. The market will decide.
Q: Does this mean I’m rich now?
A: You’re mfers rich. As for actual value, the market decides. We made this move to keep Sketchy Mfers alive and tradable, not to speculate on price.
Q: Why not Solana? It’s cheap too!
A: Base is built on Ethereum for a reason: security, reputation, and ease of migration from the OG contract. It was the safest and simplest choice.
Q: Transparency, mfer! Did you buy up a bunch of Ethereum Sketchy Mfers before the airdrop?
A: Nah, that’s bad karma, mfer. You can check the blockchain for recent purchases before the snapshot. I do own a few OG Ethereum Sketchy Mfers from long ago—#583, #741, #1076, and #140—all held in jellopeas-vault.eth. I used to have more but gave many away for free well before the snapshot.
Q: Why airdrop for free, and why now?
A: Because we want this meme to live again—we don’t want the lore to die on-chain! High gas fees stifled it for too long. We know it will thrive on Base. When we created Sketchy Mfers, sodasoondae and I spent months on the artwork, and @zhougsoft really nailed the contract and its deployment. And with OpenSea’s new version rolling out, we thought it was the perfect time to plant this seed and see what grows.
