What does proxy mean?

A proxy, also known as a proxy server, is a valuable network service that enables clients to connect with a target server indirectly through the use of an intermediate proxy service. The primary purpose of a proxy service is to enhance the privacy and security of network terminals. A computer system or network terminal that provides proxy services is referred to as a proxy server (Proxy Server).

The fundamental principle of a proxy service is that the client initiates a connection with the proxy server and sends requests to establish a reference to the target server or obtain the desired resources from it, based on the proxy protocol used by the proxy server. The proxy server may download and cache the requested resources from the target server locally. If the resources that the client is seeking are available in the proxy server's cache, the proxy server will directly deliver the cached resources to the client. The essential function of the proxy server is to receive the client's requests and relay them to the target server.

A proxy, which is short for a proxy server, is a distinctive network service that enables the client to establish an indirect connection with the target server through the use of an intermediary proxy service. By using a proxy server, we can conceal our IP address, enhance our access speed, and overcome access restrictions. Numerous proxy service providers, including well-known overseas proxies such as MaxProxy, are available in the market. When selecting a proxy service provider, it is essential to compare several options and perform tests.
