My life goal has always been to help as many people as I can. I have a mantra I go through every morning, and it ends with my why in life: giving. It makes me feel good, and I love seeing others feel good too. That’s why I also believe in receiving (see: letting others give).

To maximize my impact on the world, I need to maximize my leverage. That’s why I’m so fucking stoked to join ODX. Startups are the greatest value creation machines we have. On Deck is building a machine to help build more of these machines. It’s incredible. I’m able to give to a bunch of startups that are in turn giving solutions back into the world.

It’s positive sums all the way down.

At the same time, I can already feel the pace of innovation here. I’m going to grow a lot as a person and operator.

I’m building myself up right now so I can help build an even better world in the future.

I want to end by saying how lucky I feel to be able to take this leap. I firmly believe the Expected Value isn’t even close between this and staying in school, but I’m also acutely aware that EV or not, the risk is a non-starter for many. Without scholarships and many other factors, I wouldn’t have had the mental clarity or unstressed environment needed to pursue my passions these last couple of years and stumble into this amazing opportunity.

You can bet your bottom dollar I’m going to give back and enable this mindset for many more kids when I have the means.
