Tokens

  • GST (unlimited supply)

    • GSTs are minted daily by users through moving and leasing their NFT Sneakers, and are burned daily by them to upgrade, repair and mint new NFT Sneakers.

  • GMT (governance token, 6 billion, require level 30)

    • A percentage of tax is taken when users trade, lease or mint NFT Sneakers in the STEPN app. These taxes go to the STEPN Treasury. GMT is the Governance Token of STEPN, and players stake GMT to vote how STEPN distributes its Treasury profit.

  • SOL (for marketplace, buy/rent sneakers)

How to play: Beginner

  • Install the app, register with email, check email and enter verification code

  • Get activation code from discord or friend, this is still invitation only, 2000 codes are given daily

  • Get some $SOL token, fund your Stepn wallet (> floor price + some sol for gas)

    • If you create a new wallet in Stepn, backup and store your seed phrase safely.

  • Buy a pair of NFT shoes (walker or jogger if you walk fast). 

    • How to choose the shoe?

      • Walker or jogger if you walk fast. I regret that I didn't buy a jogger. Jogger also earns GST faster

      • Optimize for efficiency + resilience. The other 2 you won’t be able to use until higher level

      • Shoes are expensive, generally just get the cheapest one you can for the type (walker, or jogger). Just do watch the mint, you can only mint 7 times, so you want to choose a new shoe with mint as low as possible 0/7 or 1/7 or 2/7

  • Wait for at least 6 hours until you have energy (one pair of shoes, .5 energy per 6 hours)

  • Start walking/jogging/running (it's pretty short, 10-15 minutes will use all the energy)

    • Make sure you have good GPS signal

    • Make sure you are within the speed range in the dial should be green

    • You should start to earn GST token

  • At the end of each day, repair the shoe if Durability < 50, if you have points add to efficiency or resilience (need to be over 8 I think). This will burn the GST you earned. Also you should consider leveling up as that will increase the GST you earn, it also burns GST.

How to play: Advanced users

  • Buy 2 shoes, level them up to at least level 5, then when you have enough GST mint the 3rd pair. Now it costs 200 GST to mint. 

  • Why mint the 3rd, vs buy with Sol? 

    • Might still be cheaper given now the floor is 12 Sol, and GST price is around 4.5$

    • There is a % you can mint a green shoe which is very expensive to buy today

  • Once you have 3 pairs, you will have 4 energy per day. That improves earning.

  • Buy 9 or more pairs of shoes. 9 pair gets you 45 minutes.
