As I sit here in this foreign land, My thoughts drift back to our home so grand. And though we're far from Syria's shores, Our memories of it still endure.
I tell my daughter tales so bold, Of sights and sounds she'll soon behold. Of ancient cities, so grand and true, And markets filled with spices too.
I speak of sunny days so bright, Of starry nights that shine so right. Of family feasts, and friends so dear, And all the things she'll soon hold near.
And though we're far, our hearts still yearn, For Syria's grace, our hearts still burn. But soon we'll go, back to our home, And never again shall we roam.
So hold on tight, my dear daughter, For soon we'll see our land of water. And though we're far, our love still true, Oh Syria, we'll soon be with you.
