There’s trash to clean up, clothes to fold, files to review. You need to sort out the characters and the riders of this game of life, otherwise, it’s a headless horse or elephant or what have you, just bumbling around aimlessly chasing the next task.
So, the basic strategy of communication is one sentence a day, to everyone that you can think of, that you care about. Communication needs to be proactively taken by you, and you can’t just wait for it to happen. You have to take the first step, because if you don’t, then you’ve become *passive.
*Then, don’t blame things on communication because you’re a part of the problem. You are the problem. And since other people are facts, you should not expect them to change or even think about trying to change them.
Keep true to your own communication to them, and they will eventually come around, or not, but it doesn’t hurt to try. You must be accepting of all results because other people are facts.
It’s like Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption, writing a letter a week to the School Board to get donations and funding for his prison library. The School Board first tries to satisfy him with a one-time donation of books, but he wasn’t satisfied. He then started writing two letters a week, and eventually received regular donations and funding, “just to shut him up.”
Persistence equals success, even if the success doesn’t match the initial expectation. The point is to keep going anyway.
