We are excited to announce the testnet of the FileMarket, the First Marketplace in Filecoin’s ecosystem which leverages Encrypted File Token. Read more about the EFT here.
This event will take place from Friday 10 March, 12:00 to Tuesday 14 March 22:00 (GMT + 3), ahead of Filecoin Virtual Machine’s launch on Filecoin mainnet which is on 14 of March. Join the livestream!
As you may know, Filecoin is a decentralized storage network designed to store humanity’s most important information. FVM is the execution environment for running custom code on Filecoin. It is multi-runtime, secure, and efficient. As of March 14th, builders will able to deploy EVM smart contracts (and more) on the Filecoin network. We are extremely proud to be at Filecoin’s Early Builders 1st Cohort. Learn more about FVM.

The Alpha Testnet consists of Hyperspace Testnet.

Here is the suggested workflow to explore the Testnet:
Connect your wallet to Hyperspace Testnet, or add configurations manually.
Request TFIL in the Hyperpace network from the Faucet
Mint new collection
Mint new NFT with hidden content, using Encrypted File Token Technology on Filecoin Storage. Upload any file that will be encrypted and hidden by EFT©.
List your NFT.
Buy NFT from the FileMarket collection.
After requesting tokens from the faucet, here are more details on the testnet:
Connect your wallet
Initiate creation of a new collection
Upload any pic as a logo (JPG, PNG, or GIF), fill out all necessary fields and press MINT.
Mint your NFT with a hidden folder
EFT is a modification of ERC721 standard utilizes decentralized Filecoin storage and smart contracts (actors) on FVM. This allows you to attach a file of any size and format to the NFT and encrypt it, protecting it from unauthorized copying.
Only the owner of the NFT is able to decrypt and download it.
List your NFT with encrypted content
If you have not been redirected to your collection page, then click on the profile icon and then ‘View account’
Select the NFT you’ve just minted and click ‘Go to page’
As you can see, due to the fact, that you are the owner of the NFT, the encrypted content is downloadable. As soon as you sell your NFT, you will not have the access to the encrypted content anymore.
Now, you need to place the order.
Buy NFT from FileMarket collection
Click on ‘All files’ and find ‘FileMarket Early Bird OG’ NFT. Click on ‘Buy’, and wait before the seller accepts your request. Once access requested click ‘Send payment’. Requests are accepted every few hours. The number of OG NFTs is limited, however, new batches will be delivered on a daily basis.
Sell your NFT to a friend (optional)
