I first learned about Bitcoin in 2010. I was attending an event, my company was part of, in Santa Monica. After the event I was corenered by this guy who was professing about how awesome Bitcoin was. I gave him about an hour of my time istening to how it works, what it does.
At that point I was all excited and went back to my bosses to tell them that I have a solution to our international payments problem. This was before the time of Stripe and others. I told them I’ve learned about this crypto currency that has no borders and is as global as they come.
All we had to do is create an accout/wallet and put it on our website, so that people can easily pay for our services.
Not having much detail and ability to answer questions by my managers this idea was quickly shut down and I ofcourse moved on.
Seven years later I saw that Bitcoin was now worth way north of what it used to be back then and it was accompanied by thousands other cryptos I decided to get back into it.
First I familiarised myself with the mechanics, but it was too late to become a miner so I thought the other option was to become an investor and put my lunch money on the line.
I’m gled I did it, I’ve learned so much since, experienced ups and downs. But one thing I know is that crypto and blockchain is the future.
